- Pisticci -- high prices, laid-back atmosphere. Italian.
- Bettolona -- moderate prices, friendly owner, Italian.
- Chapati House -- Good inexpensive Indian.
- Roti Roll -- Cheap, fast, to the point.
- Indus Valley -- Best Indian.
- Thai Market -- Inexpensive and decent Thai.
- Absolute Bagels -- Best bagels in the west side of Manhattan.
- Community Restaurant -- Organic frou-frou food.
- Dinosaur Bar-B-Que -- Smells and tastes delicious.
- Taqueria y Fonda -- Excellent Oaxacan Mexican Hole in the Wall
- Mill -- Decent, inexpensive Korean
Drink here:
- 1020 -- Cheap dive, popular, to the point. Good for happy hour. Avoid at all costs after 8 on the weekend.
- Ding Dong -- Loud, hipper-than-most club of the area.
- The Hamilton -- excellent selection of whiskeys.
- The Heights -- Has a rooftop. Good for cold margaritas during summer when undergrads aren't here.
- Lion's Head Tavern -- Cheap dive bar like 1020 without all the undergrads. Really good food even if it's a dive.
- Mel's Burger Bar -- Decent burgers. Has a pretty good beer club.
- Suite -- Our local gay-friendly institution.
- The West End Lounge -- Formerly The Underground. Two rooms, sometimes interesting music, late night fun.
Harlem
Eat here:
- Amy Ruth's -- Venerable institution. Fantastic Soul Food.
- Sylvia's -- Venerable institution. Fantastic Soul Food.
- Cedric -- New pricey French bistro.
Music here:
- Paris Blues -- Classic jazz bar of Harlem.
- St. Nick's Pub -- Classic jazz bar of Harlem.
Drink here:
- 67 Orange -- Speakeasy type feel with great cocktail
- Harlem Tavern -- New beer garden with outdoor seating.
- Bier International -- Beer garden with only indoor seating.
- Nectar Wine Bar -- Decent wine bar.
Blacklisted
- Ajanta -- Disgusting food, generally. Fooled me once, shame on you...Not gonna get fooled again!
