How do we know how old a star is? Do different stars age differently? What does a star's age mean for the planets that may be orbiting it? In this talk Mark Popinchalk will provide an overview of stellar age dating techniques, before focusing on gyrochronology, the study of a star's age due to its rotation. He will show current results from space based telescopes Kepler, TESS, and Gaia, for M stars, the most numerous stars in our galaxy.
