Extragalactic FM: The Beautiful Universe Only Our Radios Can Hear

Our universe is a bright and noisy place. Everywhere you turn there is a galaxy or a star or a planet. Most of the stunning astronomical pictures you've seen are made with telescopes that are basically superpowered digital cameras. But with very different telescopes, we can make beautiful images of a hidden dimension of our universe using radio waves. Instead of pinpoint stars, we see complex webs of gas and dust. Instead of empty space, we see huge plumes of gas being shot out of galaxies. I will discuss my favorite radio images and the telescopes and people that made them.
