"IceCube: Extreme Cold & Extreme Astronomy at the South Pole"

In just a few months construction on the world's largest telescope will be completed at the South Pole ... a mile underneath the ice! IceCube is a new type of telescope that detects neutrinos instead of light and promises to give astronomers a new perspective on many mysteries of the universe. I will discuss the nature of neutrinos, how it is possible to detect them and what it's like to do astronomy in the coldest place on Earth.
