What goes up must come down -- but why?

By taking an abridged historical tour of humanity's thoughts on gravity, beginning with Aristotle's approach and ending with Einstein's, we'll see how the question of why things fall is intimately related to the question of why things move at all. By the end of the talk, we will have clearer understanding of how physicists and astronomers approach questions like this and how gravity shapes what we see when we look into the sky.
