Living with the Stars
Abstract: Say the word "astronomer" and many people think of an old man, shivering in the cold, dark night, hunched over the eyepiece of a telescope. Today, there are few who are lucky enough to even have looked through an eyepiece. However, being an astronomer still offers the possibility to travel the world and visit observatories in exotic places. This talk tells the story of the life of an support astronomer. What happens when you get the chance to spend a few years away from civilization, with only the dark night and stars as company?
