X-Ray Spectacular! How NuSTAR Brings the High-Energy Universe Into Focus

Launched into orbit this past summer, the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) is on it's way to providing scientists with unprecedented views of the the x-ray universe. Built here at Columbia University, the revolutionary twin NuSTAR telescopes will survey the universe for super-massive black holes, study supernovae remnants and compact objects, as well as glimpse how energy is transported in the Sun. Join us as we discuss how x-ray telescopes work, the challenges of their construction and what knowledge we hope to glean from this high-precision instrument.
