Astronomy in Antartica
The central plateau of the Antarctic provides the best location on Earth for conducting radio astronomy, cosmology and atmospheric science. In this talk I will explain why Astronomers from around the world travel to the Antarctic to carry out their research. I'll continue by describing the experience of traveling, working and living at the South Pole. A brief history of Astronomy in Antarctica will be presented followed by an outline of current experiments and their results.
