"What's the deal with black holes, anyway? Are they actually black? Actually holes? Do they suck up everything around them like giant vacuum cleaners? And why are they always picking fights with Mr. Spock? Myths and misconceptions about black holes abound. In this talk, we'll set the record straight about our chromatically-challenged, lacunary friends and discuss some of the reasons astronomers and physicists are so interested in them."
