    11 ABSTRACT
     11I will describe two methods to establish the relationship
     12between galaxies  and dark matter. One is based the conditional
     13luminosity function model, which links galaxies and dark matter halos
     14by matching the number density and clustering properties of galaxies
     15with those of dark matter halos in the current CDM model. The other
     16is based on galaxy systems identified from large redshift surveys
     17of galaxies.  The galaxy - dark halo relationship established by
     18these two methods matches well. The results provide important clue
     19about how light traces mass in the universe and how galaxies form in
     20the cosmic density field.
