It is the policy of GSAC is that for a department to be in "good standing", the department's GSAC representative or a proxy from the same department must attend all meetings throughout the academic year with two allowed absences. Departments who do not meet this obligation are considered to lose "good standing" and are ineligible to receive funding from GSAC funds (which are collected from student activities fees paid by every GSAS student). 23 24 Every two years or so, GSAC elects three student representatives to the [http://www.columbia.edu/cu/senate/ University Senate].
